From Armen Dilanchian
November 3, 2008
Dear MEEP Parents,
In my ongoing commitment to communicate with you frequently I will be sending a monthly e-mail regarding our daily activities and reminders for each month. I cannot believe November is already upon us!
First, I want to thank all of our parents who volunteered their time to help set-up our annual Halloween Festival. I especially want to thank Diane Carpio (MEEP 5th grade parent) for her tireless energy for the past six years in organizing this fantastic event for the Miraloma community. Also, a big thanks to Jim Pohl for the amazing Haunted House he created for the kids. We raised $2,400.00 which will go toward our scholarship fund for next academic year.
Happy 25th year Anniversary MEEP! MEEP is turning 25 years old at Miraloma School on November 7, 2008. There will be a celebration of this milestone accomplishment in the cafeteria from 2:00 to 4:30 p.m. There will be refreshments and snacks for all. We hope you can join us to celebrate with the MEEP staff and the Miraloma teachers. We couldn’t have done it without your support.
New tuition procedures: We have finally resolved our computer problems in order to e-mail invoices directly to you. I believe you have already received your monthly statements from Darryn. Checks must be placed in a sealed envelope with your name on the envelope. Please do not hand checks to staff members or set it on our desk. Checks must be placed in our mailbox outside of Room 111. Envelopes will be provided for your convenience. If your tuition is being paid in cash please make sure to hand it to Pamela Robinson (MEEP Operations Director) or Darryn James (MEEP Exec. Assistant). If you need signatures for your FSA accounts or individual receipts, Darryn will be more than happy to assist you in this.
Policies and Procedures: Should you need a copy of your completed application please let Darryn know and he’ll place a copy in your mailbox.
Mailboxes: All our mailboxes have been reorganized and are color coded for easier access. If you have any questions regarding our mailboxes please make sure to see Darryn. I encourage you to check your mailbox daily to make sure you receive all pertinent information about MEEP.
Dates MEEP will not be in session for November: MEEP will not be in session November 11th (Veteran’s Day) and during Thanksgiving (November to November ).
Healthy Snacks: To obtain information about our nutritious snacks daily please check our MEEP bulletin board outside of room 111. The information will be posted daily.
MEEP parent conferences: every academic year MEEP holds two parent conferences with our parent body and our MEEP teachers. This year our 1st parent conferences will be from November 10, 2008 through November 13, 2008. Darryn will have a signup sheet for you to arrange a time to meet with our teachers. Please note: These conferences are optional and is another way for our program to meet your family’s needs.
MEEP Winter Talent Show: Save this date! Our talent show will be held on December 12, 2008 from 6:45 p.m. until 7:45 p.m. in our school auditorium. You don’t want to miss this show! Dinner will be provided for the kids prior to the show.

Dear Parents Where did the month of September go? One thing about being in the school environment… is that time just seems to fly by!
I hope that your children have been enjoying MEEP. I know the first few weeks of school are a little tough on our lower grade students and takes a little time to adjust especially with all the transitions that occur on a daily basis.
I hope that our teachers have been communicating with you frequently. I have been so impressed by our staff this year for their creativity and thinking out of the box ideas that it’s been a privilege for me to work with them every day.
I also want to thank all the parents that attended the After School Committee on September 24th. It was so great to see your support and your great ideas.
Just a few reminders for the month of October!
Parent/Teacher Conferences begins the week of October 24th.School will end an hour earlier but rest assured the MEEP teachers will pick-up the kids afterschool an hour earlier as well. MEEP Parent Conferences which is optional to our parents will be conducted on the first week of November.
MEEP Halloween Festival for our school community will take place on October 30, 2008 from 2:30 until 4:30-5:00 p.m. Please let us know if you like to volunteer for this fun event.
October tuitions are now due late fees will occur after October 6, 2008. (Please make sure your payments are in a sealed envelope and placed in our mailbox outside of room 111. You will also find envelopes inside the MEEP mailbox for your convenience.)
Also we’ve been having some difficulty e-mailing invoices via e-mail! We are working to resolve the problem. In the meantime please check your mailboxes daily for any pertinent information regarding MEEP.
Our administrative assistant, Darryn has put together a daily schedule that is posted outside the MEEP office. This schedule is composed daily, and includes all of the activities that each grade level goes through. Also, just a reminder, if you are picking your child up anytime prior to 4pm, please use this schedule to sign your child out with his/her teacher. After 4pm, please feel free to have Darryn or another staff member assist you at the office with sign-out.
I am pleased to introduce our new Spanish Teacher Ms. Marta Vasquez who will be joining us starting on October 1st. Ms. Angela Succi (our prior Spanish instructor) who joined us back in September will be leaving MEEP due to personal commitments. We will miss her dearly; however we’ll still see her around the school since her son attends Miraloma.
Lastly, we’ve been aware of the tough economic times for our families and in an effort to help support our school community MEEP has given away $15, 840.00 in scholarship funds this year and we hope to continue this in the coming years. I want to thank our contributor for their generosity and kindness.
As always should you have any questions feel free to contact me.
Warm Regards

Dear MEEP Parents,
As many of you know, MEEP has a lot going on over the next few months! The first activity that is coming up, is our annual Halloween Festival 2008! This will take place on October 30th, from 2:30pm to 5:00pm. It’s going to be a ton of fun, and many memories will be made.
On a similar note, you can register your children for this event by visiting our website, and downloading the forms to fill out. These forms include information about the event, and an order form for participation tickets in the event. To get access to these forms, please click here: www.meepinc.com. Once your forms are all completed, please drop them off at the black MEEP mailbox, right outside of the office. Also, copies of these forms are going out in the Wednesday Folders.
We are currently looking for parent volunteers to help with set-up and clean-up, etc. Also, we are looking for parents to donate any available bedsheets for the Haunted House. These bedsheets will be dyed, so any sheets that you have available can be dropped off at the MEEP office. Your donation will be greatly appreciated, and will make our 2008 Halloween Festival that much better.
All invoices for November are now being processed. Please note, you will be emailed your invoice over the course of the next few days. If you have any questions or concerns regarding your invoice, please feel free to call or email us regarding the matter.
Lastly, we are looking to have a sort of gathering forum for our 2008-2009 MEEP parents. Parents could bring any questions or issues that they may be having about the MEEP program. We are looking to have this forum on November 13h. Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns regarding this topic. We will keep you posted about the upcoming MEEP Parent Forum.
Best Regards,
Darryn James
