Update on Enrollment at MEEP
2010/2011 Academic Year!
Dear MEEP Parents,
We wanted to give you a status on enrollment for next year. Spots are filling up fast! Please note: we will be having a separate third grade class next year at MEEP!
This is what we have left:
Kindergarten--3 spots left
First Grade--5 spots left
Second grade--4 spots left
Third grade--5 spots left
Fourth and Fifth grade--8 spots left
Please note: If you sign up (or have already signed up) and pay September-May up front by May 15th, you will receive a larger discount than if you paid it up front by September. Here is the breakdown for both part time and full time. Please note: The discount does not apply to the 2 weeks in August and cannot be used in conjunction with the sibling discount.
Full time September-May:
Total: $3,780
10% discount if you pay by September 1st: $3,402 (savings of $378)
15% discount if you pay by May 15th: $3,213 (savings of $567)
Part time September-May:
Total: $2,655
5% discount if you pay by September 1st: $2,522.25 (savings of $132.75)
10% discount if you pay by May 15th: $2,389.50 (savings of $265.50)

MEEP Donates 2 Spots at Summer Camp to the Auction!
Over the years, MEEP has received such great support from the school and parents. So as we did with last year’s auction, we will be offering two spots within our MEEP Summer Day Camp program to the school auction as a token of our appreciation.
Summer Camp @ Miraloma Elementary School!
We are now accepting applications for our Summer Day Camp which will begin June 14th thru July 23rd.

Open Registration for 2010-2011
MEEP open registration for 2010-2011 begins on March 15th.We have 115 spots available for 2010/2011. As of March 2nd we’ve had 35 spots already filled for next year.
Tutors R Us Offering Group Tutoring
This month Tutors R Us is excited to offer group tutoring for $35.00 an hour per student. We need between 2 and 5 students. For more information contact Ms. Shivers in room 100.
MEEP 3-5th Grade Classes
February was an eventful month for the MEEP 3rd-5th Grade students. With Black History month we had plenty of discussions and celebrations. For our Black History Assembly Kali and Sienna recited Martin Luther King Jr.'s famous speech. Valentine's Day brought an opportunity for the boys to express their affection for that special someone in their lives, be it Mom or a classmate. The Boy’s Club made Valentine's Day Cards.
In our Mental Math activity, the group as a whole has been enthusiastic about multiplication and dominoes. Some in the group have taken on the challenge to defeat the staff at MEEP in this lively game where they have to use subtraction and addition and skip counting skills within a few seconds of their turn to rack up points...the teachers have yet to be defeated. We have a strong feeling its only matter of time when our staff will be defeated. Other students have even created math games and have taught others in the class to play them!.
March Math Challenge (grade 3-5)
We invite Miraloma parents to come to MEEP on March 10 and 24 around 5pm, to come challenge our students to multiplication, division, dominoes, and also the original games they've created. We hope to see you there! .
